Stoni is a master writer and this time she creates the tale of two ill-fated characters, once deeply in love but now deeply in hate. The book is delicious and keeps your attention with all the subplots that Stoni has concocted and threaded skillfully together. I always love how she manages to incorporate characters from her previous books back into the current novel. This book about Carrera and Slash was hard to put down. Stoni’s ability to write such action-packed and steamy books is amazing. I love how all the characters from previous books in the series are incorporated into this book throughout the whole story. I really like the additional characters as well. I could really feel the hate between Carrera and Slash at the beginning and felt how that hate transitioned into love the more time they talked and spent time together. The dynamic between Carrera and Slash is sensational and their push-pull is so intense at times it almost leaps off the page. Plus, there's a charming, witty and cheeky 85 year old Grandmother who will capture your heart. Finally Stoni Alexander throws in a surprising macabre twist that I certainly didn't anticipate.
Slash is a fan favorite among Ms. Alexander's readers and her story is long awaited and it's a winner. I love the woman. She's all attitude: definitely a take no prisoners kinda woman. Tough as they come but with a vulnerability about her. Carrera is a man who straddles the line when it comes to doing the right thing. He has a dark side and is not afraid to exercise it.
