You get what you see. Nothin’ more. Nothin’ less.

 

I left home at sixteen after watchin’ my world burn up around me. I walked to protect the ones I love. My brothers. Then I spent life lookin’ over my shoulder, wonderin’ when the grim reaper was gonna haul me straight to hell.

 

Now, I’m back and dealin’ with the brothers I left behind. One’s still pissed. One’s too busy chasin’ the ladies, but the third took me in, gave me a place to stay, a job to do.

 

Truth is, everything ‘bout me’s all smoke and mirrors. My family thinks I’m a drifter who got nowhere in life. They’re in for one hella surprise when they find out the truth.

 

I’m the man the Agency calls when no one else can get the job done. That’s ‘cause I operate in the twilight zone—between good and evil—and I don’t see the diff’rence between either one of ‘em. My job is to find the monsters and annihilate them… and I’m damn good at it. Been doin’ it for so long, it’s in my soul, if I got one.

 

They call me the triggerman, the lone wolf, the renegade. Except for her.

She calls me Rambo.

 

I call her my guardian angel, my Bella. She’s a total babe and the only woman I can’t get out of my head. But she’s the one relationship I’m not gonna mess up. I depend on her to keep me alive. She’s had my back more times than I can count. She’s good at her job, cool under fire, and the only person I trust when things go sideways.

 

And they always do. That’s the one thing I can count on.
